In this episode Carly Houston and Kirstin Lyons talk about how they built their property business around their values and now provide homes to 100 people with a range of support needs. They share how they grew their business and describe the property model they use which has been popular with a range of supported living providers.

Carly & Kirstin are sisters, originally from Scotland but now based in Brighton & Hove on the south coast. They have been investing in property together since 2013.

Following their values, it was very early on in their property journey that they decided they wanted to provide accommodation to more disadvantaged groups. Their focus has been to develop high quality HMO properties for people facing homelessness in the Brighton & Sussex area. They now have over 100 units in the area and work with small number of local housing providers.

They have more recently established their own Community Interest Company, working in partnership with a care provider to offer high quality, supported living schemes to people with mental health issues.

Carly & Kirstin are also both experienced property coaches/consultants and have worked with many clients from complete novices to seasoned professionals, helping them to determine their long & short term strategies, set goals they can achieve and ultimately build a property businesses in line with their core values and investment targets.
