Deidre Cartwright is the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) Private Rented Sector Development Manager at Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse. She brings 10 years’ experience in the domestic abuse sector, both as a front line practitioner and an advisor to national and local policy makers and practitioners in developing coordinated community responses to domestic abuse.
Deidre’s role as the Private Rented Sector Development Manager is to better understand the experiences and needs of survivors living in the PRS, and to support private rented sector professionals, including landlords, letting agents, property developers and local authority private rented sector teams, to have an effective response to domestic abuse as housing providers/professionals, which meets the needs of both tenants and landlords/letting agents.
We have worked in partnership with national housing bodies such as the Association of Residential Letting Agents and FixFlo to develop specific guidance for landlords, letting agents, and repair and maintenance professionals. Below are the resources currently available to these professionals
